Monthly Research!!
To dissipate the high heat flux of 20 MW/m² in nuclear fusion reactor divertors, current research focuses on boiling cooling channels with airfoil-shaped structures. Airfoil-shaped fins can enhance heat transfer by increasing surface area and promoting efficient flow patterns, although they may also lead to higher pressure drops compared to traditional pin fins. NEWS : Visiting ITER
Prof. Jo visited ITER(International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) as the leader of the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) Engineering Department’s job-commissioned training program. ITER is an international nuclear fusion research and engineering project aimed at demonstrating the feasibility of fusion energy as a large-scale and carbon-free source of power. During the site visit to ITER, Prof. Jo toured the Tokamak facility currently under construction and attended a speech on ITER’s development plans and vision. More+
