Visiting University of Wisconsin Madison on Nov. 2024

Yohan and Ungjin have been dispatched to UW-Madison for 6 months as part of the SMR(Small Modular Reactor) Workforce Development Project, a government-funded initiative.Yohan is conducting research on thermal-hydraulic accident scenario analysis in non-water SMR, while Ungjin is focusing on analyzing bubble behavior through AI. Their work represents significant contribution to advancing knowledge in SMR technology and innovative reactor system. To encourage and support them, Prof HangJin Jo visited the site. During this visit, he provided guidance on their research and treated them to delicious mac & cheese and pizza!

Attending NTHAS - 13th Nuclear Hydraulic and Safety Nov. 2024

Prof. HangJin Jo and our lab members attended the Symposium on Nuclear Thermal Hydraulic and Safety(NTHAS), held in Seoul in November as a joint event between Japan and Korea. At the same time, we also had an enjoyable membership training with the lab members. It was a truly wonderful time!

Visit to NASA Glenn Research Center with KARI Researchers, 2024

Professor HangJin Jo had the privilege of visiting the NASA Glenn Research Center, accompanied by researchers from the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). This visit was a remarkable opportunity to engage with pioneering aerospace research and strengthen international collaboration. The potential for continued partnership and contributions to the global aerospace and energy communities is highly anticipated.

Future of Hydrogen Energy and Gyeongbuk Forum, 2024

Prof. HangJin Jo attended the discussion on strategies to promote future nuclear hydrogen production during the 'Future of Hydrogen Energy and Gyeongbuk Forum'. Prof. Jo presented the direction universities should take from the perspective of workforce development as part of the strategies to promote future nuclear hydrogen production.

Visiting Terra Power, Oregon State University, University of Wisconsin-Madison,  Northwestern University (2023)

Our lab memebers visited the United States on a business trip. We went to Terra Power, a nuclear power company sponsored by Bill Gates, Oregon State University, Northwestern University and University of Wisconsin-Madison. From there, we were able to learn a lot of research know-how.
